Mermaid Under the Sea Birthday Party at the Carlsbad Lagoon, San Diego

On August 30th we celebrated my baby girl's First Birthday at the Carlsbad Lagoon, with a Mermaid themed party. We went to the Lagoon earlier this year for another birthday party, and when we saw the location, and the large deck that you get to rent for parties, we knew that this would be the best spot for Zoey's party. We had such a great time out there and how perfect is it to have a Mermaid party at a Lagoon. I really wanted to get a mermaid that would swim out of the water....but my husband vetoed that idea....I guess that would have been overboard :)

Party details:
• Mermaid & Starfish centerpieces
• Custom Cake designed by BC Cakes & Bakery
• Madeleine clam cookies
• Rice Krispies starfishes
• Goldfish bar
• Custom water bottle labels
• Custom onesie and tutu from Joy Shine Designs on Etsy.

We rented some kayaks and peddle boats for people to use during the party....you can see my son in the middle waving to us :)

I designed a 4 page accordian styled invitation where we were able to place multiple photos of Zoey that we had take throughout the year. The invitations are available for purchase at www.invitationparlour.com or our etsy store. We also have a 5x7 flat version of this invitation available on etsy as well.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

Check out this cute Mickey Mouse themed birthday party we created for Jacob's first birthday.

We mainly used the ideas of the Mickey Mouse ears combined with the fun bright colors.  Some of the items we created such as the Mickey ear oreo cookies and the Mickey centerpieces were ideas we found on Pinterest. Go and follow us there, to see what fun ideas you can find for your next party.
Here are the Mickey Invitations we created. To order these you can go to our Etsy store at www.etsy.com

Bubble Birthday Party - Aidan turns 2!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe another year has flown right by. When they say it kids grow up fast, they weren't kidding! My little baby boy....not so much a baby anymore has just turned 2 on September 26th and we had a fun Bubble Bash for him.

I was toying around with some different birthday themes. I wanted to do something that I knew Aidan would like and was age appropriate for him but yet fun for everyone at the party of all ages. So I came up with bubbles! Simple and fun. I decided incorporate all aspects of bubbles....the bubbles we play with, bubble baths, and the popping of bubbles. I picked a color scheme and the rest fell into place. Check out all the fun details from the party.

Here are the invites. Even though bubbles are clear I still wanted lots of color, so I designed the invite with colored bubbles. You can order these invitations at: www.invitationparlour.com for matching favor tags, signs, etc, contact us at info@invitationparlour.com

Back of Invitation
For the dessert table we had a variety of treats that was associated with the word POP. Such as our Popcorn bar, Cake Pops, Tootsie Pops, and Rice Krispies Treats, because they go "Snap, Krackle and Pop" Of course we also had cupcakes and birthday cake, which I got at It's A Piece A Cake Bakery. They have the best Black Forest Chocolate Cake. I had the baker make the cake in a aqua blue frosting and I added the rubber duck and glass balls I found at Michaels to make it look like bubbles. For the background I cut out various size circles and made the birthday sign with my Silhouette. I also hung a bunch of clear balloons on the ceiling too look like bubbles.

For the favors, I had bubble bath, bubbles, and rubber ducks all packaged into a cute little popcorn box.

Some of the other fun food items that were associated with pop was our popcorn chicken and soda pop. I also made a blue punch that looked like a bath with rubber ducks floating in it. The recipe for the punch is at tidymom.net

So of course for the kid's activity I had bubbles. We bought a bunch of different bubble wands, and I had a bubble refill station, bubble guns and even a football that creates bubble when thrown. I also had a bunch of inflatable balls in the yard for the kids to throw around.

Little Mister Party - Tavian's 1 Month Celebration

When my business partner and best friend Justina told me that her little sister, Le My  was having a baby, I was so excited for her. I have known her since she was just a kid and now she was having her own baby!

So on May 12th, we celebrated Little Mister Tavian's one month birthday. In the asian culture, instead of having a big baby shower, they have a one month celebration to celebrate after their arrival. I've been wanting to throw a party with mustaches and bowties so I suggested we have a little man party. It was so much fun trying to come up with manly items to do for our food table and also cutting out all the mustaches and bowties. And of course let's not forget the argyle pattern we had everywhere.

Here is the invitations we designed. You can also change the wording and it would make the perfect baby shower or birthday invitation. You can purchase these at www.invitationparlour.com

And here is the table we designed.

We had root beer, mini man-wiches, bow tie pasta salad, tiny tater tots, bubble gum cigars, candy cigarettes, candy mustaches, cupcakes, oreos, chocolate chip cookies, and even mini slim jims.

We had white bags for guests to put their treats in and we added buttons to them so they looked like white shirts, then guests got to pick out a bowtie to add to the top.

And here is the guest of honor, little Mr. Tavian himself :)

And here is the new happy family.

Navin and Andrew testing out the Root beer with their mustache straws.

And Nayla & Briohny are making sure the mustache dum dums tasted ok :)

And here's the little man in my life, Aidan, taking a picture with his new friend Andrew.
